CorrectAddress is a powerful and accurate, multi-platform, multi-user solution that fits a variety of development frameworks and production environments. It verifies addresses against the U.S. Postal Service® and Canada Post databases. (CorrectAddress is both CASS™ and SERP Certified.) In addition to standardizing names or company information, addresses, cities, states, ZIP Code™, enhanced postal address Information can be generated.

Add-on Features

Geocoder - The CorrectAddress Geocoder add-on feature was made possible by the development of a superior searching and matching engine that extracts, loads and processes the latest TIGER/Line data from the U.S. Census Bureau. Six-decimal place precision offered by the Geocoder add-on, allows CorrectAddress users to easily calculate distances between addresses and use the data in conjunction with various map producing software tools.

RDI™ -The RDI add-on enables users to determine whether a given address is classified as "residential" or a "business". The RDI process may be run directly or as part of a standard address lookup. Separate licensing applies for RDI.

Benefits

Postal Discount Rates - When an improperly addressed piece of mail finds its way to your local Post Office™, additional time and effort must be taken to correct it and to send it to its ultimate destination. CorrectAddress, a CASS Certified™, address validation product, eliminates the need for that correction, allowing the pieces to be delivered quicker and more efficiently.

CorrectAddress users are also eligible for considerable bulk mailing discounts from the USPS. The software generates a copy of the Postal Form 3553 that is required as part of the documentation in a request for bulk rates. CASS™-Enhanced Postal Address information - In addition to address validation and address correction, CorrectAddress provides additional postal information about processed addresses. This includes:

1. Carrier Route Codes: CorrectAddress can provide the four-digit code that identifies the carrier route used for USPS™ mail delivery. A carrier route code is made up of a letter to designate the type of carrier route and three digits identifying a carrier route. Carrier route codes are part of information matched against USPS ^® databases.
2. Line of Travel (LOT) Coding: CorrectAddress adds the code
   composed of a four digit sequence number and an “A” or “D” for ascending and descending, respectively. This denotes the direction
   that mail is delivered in for the address.
3. FIPS Codes Support: Federal Information Processing Standards codes (FIPS) are a standardized set of numeric or alphabetic codes issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to ensure uniform identification of geographic entities through all federal government agencies. The CorrectAddress FIPS Code Finder takes a city name and state abbreviation and returns FIPS state code, FIPS place code, and a list of up to 10 county names and county numbers for that city.
4. Major Corporations Address Recognition: Many major corporation names are recognized by CorrectAddress. In many cases, CorrectAddress will recognize the company name if not entered by the user.
5. Delivery Point Bar Coding: CorrectAddress creates a Bar Code from the nine digit ZIP Code combined with the Delivery Point Code ( DPC) and the Checkdigit sum. This code can be used for scanning mail pieces.
6. DPV ^® : With the help of DPV functionality, the physical location of the address can be verified. After the standard CASS cleansing and matching, the DPV service can be applied to check the validity of a known address.
7. LACS ^Link® : CorrectAddress supports the LACS ^Link service. The LACS ^Link Product contains addresses that have been converted from rural-style to city-style due to implementation of 911 systems and addresses that have been renamed and renumbered.
8. ZIP + 4 ^® Code Appending: A ZIP + 4 code uses the basic five digit ZIP Code™ plus an additional four digits to identify a geographic segment within the five-digit delivery area, such as a city block, a group of apartments, an individual high-volume receiver of mail, or any other unit that could use an extra identifier to aid in efficient mail sorting and delivery.

Significantly Increased Address Correction Ratio - Millions of mail pieces are returned as undeliverable each year. CorrectAddress cleans up misspelled addresses and assigns appropriate city names and ZIP + 4 codes to ensure proper delivery.

Accuracy - CorrectAddress software engine uses the best available searching and matching technology available on the market today. It will fix and eliminate problems due to misspellings, transcriptions, transpositions, acronyms, phonetics, sequence differences, nicknames, and many other common errors found in data. CorrectAddress has been passed consistently CASS Certification by the United States Postal Service ^® since 2000.

Intelligence - Powered by Intelligent Search Technology’s (IST) advanced, fuzzy, multi-cultural searching and matching engine, CorrectAddress finds matches often overlooked using standard methodologies.

Merge-Purge and Deduplication - Another option available is Merge-Purge and Deduplication processing. This is available through our CorrectAddress PLUS offering. CorrectAddress PLUS combines the power of CorrectAddress with the sophistication of our MerlinMerge ^® SpeedPro duplicate detection engine. It includes all of the CorrectAddress features working in concert with the deduplication and merge/purge components of MerlinMerge SpeedPro. MerlinMerge SpeedPro is capable of interfacing with database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, MS Access, MySQL and Teradata. A customized built-in engine retrieves and reloads database records quickly and efficiently.
